Based on information in this chapter and your observations of early childhood environments, develop a list of appropriate materials and supplies to have available in the art area for young children. Are there materials that are new to you? Explain. Collect at least ten examples of children’s art (different ages, if possible). Determine what developmental stage each represents. What materials were used? Is it two- or three-dimensional art? Share these with others in your class. (Keep the children’s names confidential.)
