Research the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004. Study the IFSP and the IEP, which are requirements of this law. Share your findings with your classmates. Interview a teacher from one of the model programs discussed in this chapter, such as Montessori or Head Start. Ask the teacher to describe the philosophy of the school; how she develops curriculum to meet the abilities, interests, and needs of the children in her class; and how she assesses or evaluates the development of the children and the program itself.
